This season aims to build and platform critical reflection on 75 years since Independence and after, through an intense, sustained, focus over 6-months on histories and culture of art & design, communication practice/s. The heart of this is what is revealed through ways of talking, thinking, doing, making, and learning within educational practices and paradigms.
The moment after Independence/decolonisation/partition…. from imperial and colonial Britain. Art, Design and Communication communities are making an arts pedagogical call and engagement.
For six months starting August 2022 to February 2023 there will be self-organised and self-funded participatory events. These will be showcased and/or discussing art, architecture, film, fashion, music, and workshops on design technics, products, debates on partition, colonialism and post colonialism, articles, books, photography plays, performance, ecology, archive and object explorations, food, health. It could be workshops or works. It could also be tours of museums, places etc
The list is endless.
Participants don’t necessarily have to be from the Sub-continent. The events can be online and or in person events.
University wide Academic Support Team will provide a platform for hosting and promoting events.
